Alphabet Junction

I am so excited to get into doing regular story times again. For the past several years, I have been doing Tunes for Tots (now called Kiddie Kardio) and Little Artists instead of story times where I actually get to read books. I've loved doing the other programs, but I missed being able to read to my little ones. So I decided (with my supervisor's permission) to stop Little Artists for a bit and start doing Alphabet Junction.

During an Alphabet Junction class, we read books based on the Letter of the alphabet we are focusing on, dance to Alphabet Songs, use fun props (most of which are ABC related) and make a wearable ABC craft. The part of the class that the kids seem to enjoy the most is the last 20-30 minutes when  I bring out toys, games or other objects that fit the Letter of the Week theme. Some weeks only have a couple of items, others have several and the kids love the ability to pick and choose what they want to work with each class time.
B is for Building or C is for Construction; the blocks from Lakeshore Learning are a hit!
